Security & Legal
We take security seriously. Here is exactly what we do to keep your data safe and what you should know before using ClickClaw.
API Key Never Stored
Your OpenRouter API key is passed directly to your bot instance via the PKCE OAuth flow. It is never stored in our database, logs, or anywhere else on our systems.
Egress Whitelisting
All outbound traffic from your bot is restricted to only the AI provider and the messenger API. Your server cannot make calls to any other destination.
Container Isolation
Every bot runs in an isolated container (Standard) or a fully separate virtual server (Premium). Other users cannot access your data or processes.
No Message Logging
We do not read, store, or process your conversations. Messages travel directly between your messenger and the AI model. We only see connection health metrics.
Automated Malware Scanning
Every skills folder is scanned hourly for known malware, credential stealers, and suspicious patterns. Malicious files are quarantined automatically.
Encrypted Storage
All user data volumes are encrypted at rest. Premium plans include daily encrypted off-site backup syncs for disaster recovery.

AI outputs can be wrong. AI models can generate inaccurate, misleading, or inappropriate content. Do not rely on AI output for medical, legal, financial, or safety-critical decisions without independent verification.
You control the AI key. Your OpenRouter API key is created and managed by you. ClickClaw does not store it. If your key is compromised, revoke it immediately in your OpenRouter dashboard.
Third-party skills carry risk. While we scan for malware hourly, community-made OpenClaw skills can potentially contain malicious code. We recommend only using skills from trusted sources.
Service availability. While we target 99.9% uptime, outages can occur due to infrastructure providers, AI model providers, or messenger platform changes. We are not liable for downtime or data loss beyond our SLA commitments.
Your responsibility. You are responsible for how you use your AI assistant. Do not use it for spam, harassment, impersonation, or any activity that violates the terms of your messenger platform or AI model provider.
